Second term at Bristol
Having not written a blog entry this term, there is a lot to cover in a small amount of space. I started the second term with a desire to be more proactive with my learning and get involved in more extracurricular activities.
Although I have perhaps not done as much additional reading for my modules as I could have done, I do feel that this term I have been managing my workload better. I reckon this is largely due to the fact that this term I have twelve hours of contact time, compared to eight hours last term. Personally I think this actually motivates me to work more in the time I do have as I have less time yet more work that must be completed. I also tried to start assignments earlier; for a history essay that was due about halfway through term, I got books out of the library at the beginning of term so that I could read them gradually, rather than needing to cram a lot of information in a short space of time.
In terms of getting involved with things unrelated to the academic side of university, I have been working at the University post-offer visit days which have taken place on certain Wednesday afternoons this term. This is a great way to make a bit of extra money whilst meeting prospective students for your course. It was an absolute pleasure to meet students considering studying Liberal Arts at Bristol next year and see their enthusiasm for the course, as well as being able to give them information and advice about the course and Bristol.
