End of the year
Last essay collected. Books returned. And a mighty sigh of relief. First year done and dusted. The whole year has sped by and yet the first term seems so long ago. Of course a couple of exam results still await around the next monthly bend but I find I’m more curious than concerned; I really want to know how I did.
So what’s next? Well for starters I aim to spend a week or two as a human vegetable and catch up on some well earned rest (and by rest I mean movies, books, and video games). Basically move as little as possible. Then I fully intend to take advantage of the hot weather. One afternoon outside and I’ve already caught sun. It certainly makes up for sitting inside and revising. No longer do I look like the ghost of academics past. Finally it’s on to the usual summer shenanigans: visit family and friends, play frisbee, attempt to consolidate money only to spend it on something shiny. The usual.
One thing I need to start making a habit of is practicing Spanish. The one constant module I’ve had throughout the year has been Spanish and I intend to keep learning it in my spare time. Practice makes perfect and all that. I say this now but as of writing this post I’ve yet to practice at all since my exams ended. Kind of dropped the ball on that one. But we live and learn! Why else would I be at university?
