Essays and Exams

One term down. One to go. This year is moving a bit rapidly and true to form so is the work; by the end of last term I had essays galore! Several thousand words later (and a more than a few cups of coffee) and the festivities could begin. Of course Christmas is a good a reason as any to celebrate, but with exams around the corner and essays freshly submitted I’d be remiss to say we don’t all need a chance to just relax and/or go wild. A cheeky Christmas party here and there was on the cards.

But now it’s New Year and exam season. Exams. Now, as a mature student I haven’t had to do a university level exam in about seven years (or any exam for that matter). Further to that I haven’t had to do a written essay-type exam in probably eleven years. Needless to say I’m slightly nervous about the whole thing. Nervous but looking forward to it as a learning experience. Until recently I thought I was terrible at essays, now I look forward to them. For all I know the exams may be naught more than some scheduled stress and an opportunity to prove to myself what I’ve learned. Time will tell.
